One of the most awaited games of the year 2011, the Gears of War 3 is released by the Microsoft Corporation for Xbox 360 exclusively, and not for any other gaming platform. The game was so much an awaited one that there was a pre-order of an amount of over one million copies much before its release.

The game is not at all new for the gaming world, as it has already got two more versions already released before this one. The story of the game is based on the Gear series of novels written by the science fiction author Karen Traviss. The game is a third person shooting game, same as that of its predecessors, which involves the use of cover from the battle and also squad tactics in combat situations.

The player, and the character he is playing carries or can carry four different kinds of weapons namely, one pistol, one set of grenades and two sets of other weapons which can be changed as well as swapped and gathered from the weapons from those which are dropped by the killed enemies and those from the stockpiles around the game.

But the most common thing among these entire weapons is the signature Lancer rifle, which has a chainsaw bayonet which could be used for slicing through close range enemies. There are a few things which should be taken care of by the player while playing the game about the weapons.

There is an active reload mode of the weapons, which enables the player to reload the weapon at a better speed than the usual one. This can be obtained by pressing the control button when the weapon reload cursor is still in its reload mode. If the button is pressed after the completion of the reload the weapon can get temporarily jammed, whereas if successfully done it can enable the player to shoot some more powerful ammunition at its enemies.

Next the player should select very carefully his or her weapon, as a heavier weapon could slow down the speed of the player on the battlefield. The weapons like mortar or Fatling gun could slow out the pace of the player.
